Zen ... does not confuse spirituality with thinking about God while one is peeling potatoes. Zen spirituality is just to peel the potatoes.

  1. It is being without getting into "I am in the Being mode" thought...

In the here and now, all senses alive, alert and aware, open without selective concentration...

    Seems too far away.

  2. Hi Baskar

No I don't mind you commenting. If I respond like now, I just want to be clear that I am not trying to set myself up as a guru - just enquiring.

Why do you say "seems too far away" ? Surely what is being described is the most immediate thing? Reality is more likely to be known if the mind is one-pointedly with the vegetables than divided between two things? This came up in experience at the weekend which is why the quote came to mind & why I posted it.

If by "seems too far away" you mean that the mind keeps getting in the way I can empathise!

    Best regards,

    Nick

  3. Yes, that was what I was trying to say.

Too far away in terms of effort, not in terms of an ideal.

    Regards,
